The Sand Bothy – Our big project – What do you think?

Belhelvie Community Trust is applying to Aberdeenshire Council to take on the running of the former Beach Rangers’ Hut, now known as the Sand Bothy, at Balmedie Country Park and Beach.
We plan to have a refreshments kiosk, a permanent display about the beach and to create a venue for a wide range of craft classes and events.

The Sandy Bothy… which used to be the ranger’s centre at Balmedie Country Park.

We need to hear from local residents what they would like to see at the Sand Bothy, so please get in touch with your ideas, and share this post with friends and family.

Nothing is definite and there’s lots of work to do, but the more people who get involved the greater the chance of success. The Sand Bothy has been sadly neglected for years, but it deserves to be used again. It could become an asset to the local community and to visitors from further afield.
